The service

Unsigned reads the metadata and Content Credentials embedded in image files and removes them, entirely within your browser. Inspecting and stripping a single image is free. Premium adds batch processing, presets and an activity history for a recurring fee.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

Acceptable use

Use Unsigned on images you own or are authorised to modify. Do not use it to remove provenance from material you intend to pass off as something it is not, to strip credentials from someone else's work in order to misattribute it, or for anything unlawful where you are.

Because processing is local we cannot see what you run through the tool, which means enforcement here rests largely on you. We take that seriously and expect you to as well.

Payment

Premium is billed in advance on a recurring basis through Stripe. Cancel at any time from your account; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. Prices may change with notice, and a change never applies to a period already paid for.

What we do and do not promise

Unsigned removes the metadata blocks it reports removing, and re-reads every file it produces to confirm. We stand behind that. What we cannot promise is that no image format anywhere hides data in a way no current tool detects, or that a file you produce is untraceable by other means — pixels themselves can carry watermarks that metadata stripping does not touch.

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. It is a tool, not a guarantee of anonymity, and it should not be the only thing standing between you and a serious risk.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of Unsigned is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Since your files never reach us, we cannot lose, leak or corrupt them — but equally we cannot recover them. Keep your originals.

Ending it

You may stop using Unsigned and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms, and will explain why where we reasonably can.
